I need some ideas for cool date spots. Mainly in Chapel Hill and Durham. I'm looking for something appropriate for 1st/2nd date material that's not a restaurant. Something where there's an activity to keep the conversation moving, like mini golf or bowling. I'm completely unfamiliar with the area so any suggestions would be great (live in Cary - wooo real golf!).

If the weather is cooperative, Duke Gardens (The Sarah P. Duke Gardens) is a nice place to walk around and talk and so are the Botanical Gardens in Chapel Hill (North Carolina Botanical Garden - A Conservation Garden).

If you both like cooking, looking around Southern Season (A Southern Season, award-winning source for gourmet gift baskets and fancy foods.) in Chapel Hill might be interesting.

For bowling, Mardi Gras in Chapel Hill is a fun place.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

A Southern Season has regular wine tastings on Friday & Saturday nights; check their "classes" button on the link.

I think Triangle Swing Dance Society provides a good date, but that's because my husband too me swing dancing on our first date: TSDS - Triangle Swing Dance Society - Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Drag Bingo is a good time for a good cause, though their next event is not until January. Drag Bingo :: Home Page

Speaking of dancing, there is contra dancing in Carrboro on many Friday nights. If you don't know how to contra dance, they sometimes have a beginner's lesson 30 minutes before the regular dance.

The ice skating rink in downtown raleigh. They are having date skate features at restaurants, or just grab coffee and donuts at KK next door!
