Random aside-cancel your cable bill. If there is something on TV that you really want to see, wait a few days and there will be HD torrents for full screen viewing.

Cable is genuinely worthless. It is also expensive. Cancel cable. Buy filet mignon with said money. Come back and send me a nice note.

Not the local FOX channel, just the cable channels, FX, FOX News, Speed, etc. Who watches those anyway? All they show are about 5 minutes programming per 10 minutes of the show with the other 5 minutes commercials. Time it, am I wrong?

guess we will be watching SAMCRO on internet in January.

Fox does know how to program for maximum $$ effect on its movie channel...

Too bad the money goes to Ruppert...

in the end, if you're a TWC cable company, this should **** you off. one way or the other, you're getting less for same (of not more) cost

lots of people do. fox news has the most viewership of all the cable news programs. i like them because they do good research and get to the meat of the issues. fx has lots of good and interesting programming. speed is for people who like motor sports of all kinds. nascar racing is the number 2 sport in the country. so lots of people watch these channels and i am sure they will be very upset if they lose them.

I 3rd the a la carte option since the issue is $1 more on your bill to keep the channels. The people who want the channels can pay the $1 more and those who don't, won't have to and don't get the channels. I went cable-less when I moved here, because it seemed like a waste of money and I wanted to be more active. So far I've only missed a few of my very favorite channels a few times. Otherwise, I do fine with my few free channels and supplement with a $9 Netflix plan. However, if there was an a la carte option for $x/channel, I would definitely do that to have the few channels I miss.

Only problem with a la carte option is it is $1/user (for all users) cut it in half it would be 2 bucks probably. Some channels would wind up being cheap as everybody wants them and some would be stupid expensive. Also certain channel companies require the cable provider to provide x channel on the same tier if they want to carry y channel. It is their leveraging to get more people able to see their less in demand stations.

I agree though that option would be great to have, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

I would miss speedtv, I like a bunch of there shows. I also like Fox News and Fox Business News.

I find it hilarious that TWC is running adverts about networks raising their rates in a down economy when TWC just jacked up my bill last month.

I was already disappointed to see I can't watch Thursday games with no NFL network on TWC. At this point I have no option but cable for TV services, but it's getting to the point where I might just cancel and watch everything on the internet.

All these channels are a waste of my money. I like the idea of picking what channels I WANT and then paying for what I WANT. How many of cable channels do you actually watch anyway?

I totally agree with you.

BTW...This was my husbands opinion, not mine...he just thought he would use my username...he's been talked to : ) As for Fox...don't care, don't watch. But hey, we pay a bundle for cable, so if they're taking channels away, they should be replacing it with something or giving us money back!
