My favorites:

Bisquitville (sp?) Wake Forest Rd. near Six Forks Rd. Raleigh

Any Hardees (ham 'n egg bisquit is the best!)

Any Bojangles (chicken bisquit, ham 'n egg bisquit with sweet tea!)

In Durham, I love Guglhupf, Fosters, and Elmo's for breakfast. I also really enjoy going out to breakfast, and these 3 make me very happy

I'm hooked on Perkins. Affordable and good eats! I personally get the Tremendous Twelve which is a manly meal if I've ever seen one. 3 eggs, 4 pancakes, meat, potatoes, YUM! Great kids meals, too. I believe $5-$6 gets you a nice mini-tremendous twelve for the kids with eggs, potatoes, cakes (substitute them for the toast at no charge), and meat. My fam' of 5 can currently eat breakfast there for under $40 tip included.

Foster's is great on weekday mornings, if you can swing it, because hardly anyone is there. Seating (inside) is very limited and the place fills up quickly (both in and out) on weekends. Mad Hatter's on Main and Broad in Durham does a good breakfast too, IMO.

Tir Na Nog in downtown Raleigh used to have buffets, those were really good. You got your standard Golden Corral "trough". I was always fond of Courtney's by Kohl's in Raleigh (off of Falls of the Neuse). Really good food!

My alltime favorite was the French bakery at the corner of Creedmoor Rd & Millbrook. Those chocolate crossiants were to die for!

[quote=DebbieF;746033]Farmers Market in Raleigh,[quote]

I second the Farmers Market, however, the lines can be long on the weekends........sometimes we have bought fresh eggs & butter (from inside vendor at the Farmers Market), plus sausage/bacon from that pork place in FM and made our own "Farmers Market" breakfast (adding bisquits from BoJangles)---just as good!

I am all about some Tir Na Nog Sunday brunch, it's pretty good.

If you're eating on a weekday, or Saturday... Hands down, no contest.

Big Ed's at City market.
