Default RDU Air Traffic Change???
Have I become super sound-sensitive or did RDU recently change its flight take off pattern? Every morning now around 5:30, I start hearing planes taking off. I have lived here for many years and never been bothered by plane noise before, just an occasional helicopter or something once in awhile.

Does anyone know if something has changed?

I'm not used to hearing planes either until around 6 AM. 5:30 AM seems earlier than normal to me too.

Maybe it is the holidays and extra air freight/passengers coming in/out.

I think it's the extra early morning flights for the air express carriers to get those 'overnight' online packages here for the holidays!
