Big meals, salaries boost chances of N.C. liquor reform (http://www.wral.com/news/state/story/6778983/ - broken link)

Crab cakes, creme brulee and Crown Royal combined with charges of cronyism are carrying the critics of North Carolina's nearly 75-year-old liquor sales system when a 75-page legislative report alone did not.

What?

Not just confusing, but what's with the odd use of alliteration?

Sigh. Former English professor here, and I think a little part of me just died after reading that.

Maybe I'm missing something? It's an AP piece, not written by RAL staffers (this time).

As for the topic...yep, looks like the beginning of the end for the ABC gravy train!

But they put it up. Don't care if it's the AP.

I don't know what's so difficult to understand. It was obviously creme brulee in the parlor with the candlestick.

I know it's considered the "head honcho" for broadcast news in the Triangle; but I always preferred ABC11 Eyewitness over WRAL. This may sound dumb but ABC11 always looked more "current" than WRAL. Call me crazy but WRAL newscasters all looked like they were stuck in the 80's/early 90's to me. Also Joanne Feldman was the meteorologist on ABC11 and she was easy on the eyes. No offense Greg Fishel!
