So apparently this station was recently bought out and switched to republican talk radio or something? Have I been living under a rock?

I like the fact that I can actually listen to it at work now. Although I actually like the guest hosts better than Beck or Hannity (not real big fans of either of them). FYI, It's not Republican talk radio, but rather conservative talk radio. Most true conservatives have some real different views than the "modern" republican.

It also carries the Roy Williams show on Monday nights and all the Carolina basketball games.

So does the Triangle have only one country station now (94.7)? Everywhere I've been in NC has at least 3 country stations in range...

No,

They flipped formats as did many Clear Channel stations. They are now a News/Tallk stations carrying a local morning show, Beck @ 9, Rush @ 12, Hannity @ 3, Coach to Coach @ midnight and on the weekend a live show Saturday morning the Financial Safari 8am and Kim Komando among other shows.

That's Coast to Coast at midnight. Not Coach to Coach.

I believe the channel didn't change ownership.. just shuffling things around with end Clear Channel's domain. I used to listen to talk on 680AM and am happy now that some of the shows that before were at odd times are now at the time they are supposed to be at. I guess the music formats are probably getting more and more clobbered by folks getting their music content from other sources. I'm sure its purely a question of advertising dollars and programming decisions.
