All the kids (20, 22 & 25) will be home next weekend and we're trying to think of something to do together. It's cold so we don't want to go to the mountains or the beach. Is there anything interesting to do in Charlotte or a little further south?

You say Charlotte, so I assume you are willing to drive up to three hours each way? Seems pretty far for a day trip. Do you want something to do outdoors, history, shopping, cultural? Give us some guidance.
