You got on the list to go in because you voted.
If you don't want to serve, then don't vote.
Also, do not complain about the government, either.

Happened to me once. I felt terrible. I was younger and basically avoided the situation at the time.....never heard anything about it from anyone. If I did it now I would probably call the court to be sure though.

My son was called for jury duty when he was 18 and had just left home for college. I called to let them know and this real mean lady started screaming at me about his obligation and a bunch of junk. I about peed myself.

I called the university and they sent something to the clerk.

i completely forgot my jury duty date a few months ago. when i realized it a week later i called the court, apologized humbly, and was given several dates to choose from. i was treated very cordially.

Yes jury duty is a civic responsibility. Tell that to me after I have sat in the most uncomfortable chair for hours on end. I do more than my civic responsiblity in other areas. I will leave the other civic responsibilities to our wonderful politicians.

I absolutely agree and was not disputing the fact that Jury duty is a civic responsibility. My son however was no longer a resident or registered voter in Wake County and was hours away at University.

I've never been called to serve.
