We're going to a 4 pm concert in Hillsborough this Sunday, and thinking about making a day of it.

Any suggestions on shops, restaurants, or interesting stuff to do in the area that'd be open?

Tupelo's is decent if you like cajun, louisiana, creole type cuisine. It's on Churton St.

Default Ayr Mount

If the weather is good, you might want to go for a walk around the grounds at Ayr Mount (1815 Federal-style plantation house that's been restored). Unfortunately the house is closed in Jan. and Feb., but according to the website it looks like the grounds are open. Or come back and visit when the weather is warmer! The website is Classical American Homes Preservation Trust
