We were surprised too that the work was done as reasonably as it had been, and the car was actually fixed. Before, it still always ran just a little rough, and no amount of attention to it seemed to make it better. The timing sensor was replaced, and did we notice the difference.

I'll see if I can find the bill, in my records somewhere!
Renaissance Auto - 1100 West Chatham? I've had good luck with them as well.

Shade Tree is great - you will have to be clear on when you need the car back, though, because they can sometimes take a little longer than you might expect. I know the guys personally and am very into the BMW community around here (or was, until we had a baby, LOL).

Leith BMW isn't actually so bad if you are a CCA member - you get 15% off parts and labor.

Performance BMW has a new shop foreman and are getting their service department in line to provide good service also.

I currently own 3 ('85 e24, '90 e34 and '94 e36) and have had up to 6 at one time, 2 being track cars, so let's say my issues can be frequent and diverse in nature . What I can't do myself I would trust to Shade Tree, Carolina Import Works (Capital Bld) or Performance Chassis in Cary.

Cool - both my wife and I instruct for THSCC and many others, although we are on a hiatus thanks to our 11 month old daughter We may try to sign up for something just to avoid having our track car sit idle so long. I'm trying to sell it though.
