Thanks, I got assigned Heather at Leith BMW. Anyways, hope it goes smoothly when I take the car in this week.

On another note, someone told me Import Motor Werks in Cary changed owners recently. Is it still as good as before? Seems like everyone sings high praise for them.

I think you'll be fine. I've not had anyone there that wasn't great to work with.

Vicki

How recent? I've been to them twice since they changed name from M-Powered.

I was told yesterday by one of their employees but she only said 'recently". The website lists Jordan Russ as the owner.

I was talking to David Russ over the weekend since I had my tint done by him across the street. He said Jordan just moved to Miami so his mom bought the Import Motor Werks (M-Powered) shop from him. I think that's what they mean by recent change in ownership.

I'll get back to you later with a suggestion for a Leith advisor.
I have to say that I was not impressed with Patricia's knowledge at the very least (about two years ago). I used to take my out of warranty X5 to Performance for 3 years and then decided that I can live without them. They are not even aware of common problems that BMW has issued advisory on them. Also their parts are more expensive than any other dealer. I was quoted today $145 for the door carrier that can be bought online from other BMW dealers across country and shipped for about $100.
Last two years I have been doing almost all repairs myself and it is very statisfying experiance in addition to saving a lot. There are many forums with great DIY. PM me for a great one that I have used many times for replacing brakes to ... Or just bring you car to my drive way with a pack of beer ;-)

Don't shoot the messenger. I went out of my way to try to find a referral for the OP - none of these people I actually know myself except the friend who made the suggestion, and I trust the friend, so by association I have to assume their referrals are trustworthy.
