While in vacation in NYC I got a bikini wax (not everything lol) and it was not nearly as painful as I expected, but I did a lot of research and think I found a great place. Now I'd like to take it to the next level Recommendations?

i posted an ad similiar to this online a couple months ago, and you will find lots of pervy guys wanting to do it on you...for free, even. who cares if they offer it for free. spend the $50, get it somewhere legit and by a professional, and without pervy creepsters just wantin a free look at your...everything.

let me know if you find somewhere good in the area! i'm looking to get it done, too. =)

The missus sees a woman named Valentina at Bella Trio spa in Durham for waxing and facials. She always looks forward to going. Have had a facial there once and really enjoyed it, but not sure if waxing is up my alley or not

Other posters and I have posted a request for recommendations on this board several times before, with no luck. The main problem being the price point. Those of us who were used to having high quality Brazilian waxes done for much lower prices at waxing houses in other cities just can't stomach paying $50-$60 for a wax at a "spa" every month for one here.

I'll keep an eye on this thread, hopefully someone has some new leads.

My ex used to get hers done at ULTA in crossroads. There used to be a Brazillian lady doing all of the plucking and waxing

I've heard good things about Sona Med Spa and Iatria, but you are going to pay more at both of those places. Personally - I'd rather go to a spa type place with the knowledge that they know what they are doing.

I was just about to post a thread about the same topic!

My main concern is more so about pain and comfort rather than price. I'm willing to pay more for less pain and more skill.

I used to have Brazilian waxes regularly in Miami. I lived two blocks from the waxing place - they specialized in waxing and maybe had someone there doing nails, but waxing was the main focus. I paid $30 for a full Brazilian (using European hard wax) including tip. Very professional and very little pain.

In my experience, less pain and more skill went right along with lower price - maybe because there was more of a market there, maybe they had lower overhead, but I think it was because they were a waxing house and not a spa.

I am more concerned about paying too much for mediocre yet frou frou service just because it is at a spa. I want to get the best value for my money, because it will not be a one-time service but rather a regular service for me.
