Hi All,

Please let me know of any day care that will provide summer care for a developmentally delayed kid. I would really appreciate any response.

Default Camp Friendly

Raleigh Parks and Recreation runs a nice outdoor summer camp for special needs kids called Camp Friendly. My daughter has attended for several summers and has really enjoyed it. The counselors are mostly college age and are outstanding (and very patient). The program is available to all families with special needs, not just those who live in Raleigh.

You can call Project Enlightenment. Project Enlightenment They might have some recommendations.

Also the Carolina Parent magazine puts out an issue with summer camps. I'm sure they have a listing for one for special needs children. CarolinaParent.com | Carolina Parent | A Family and Parenting Resource for Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Durham & other Triangle cities

I don't know how to write you directly, but I am moving to WCPSS and need to know where the safest affordable place to rent there might be. I have a DD child in elementary. He is going to benifit from year round school but I dont know which area in WCPSS has the best resources for a DD kid. You say that you have one, I really wanted to see if you might be able to help in this question.

Default White Plains Children's Center for Special Needs Day Care

White Plains Children's Center of Cary NC is the best in the area. I hope you live close enough to make this work for your family. Good Luck.
