Does anyone know when new student orientation occurs during the year for middle & high school in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro school district? Is it at the end of the school year or only during summer? TY!

When we moved to Chapel Hill a few years ago, I had one high school student entering her Junior year. She attended the new student orientation - which was aimed primarily at Freshmen - just before school started.

Was it the week school started or the week before? Sorry to be a pain but I called the schools & they were only able to say that the schedule is not out yet so I figured I would ask parents who hav already been thru it. Thanks

I don't remember. It was just a few days before school started. Class schedules were distributed at the orientation.

orientations are very informative but really the student handbooks will give you all the same information. Are you planning on moving in the middle of the school year? We did and found our new neighbors and the school staff were more than willilng to help with any questions. In fact the principal of the elementary school gave us her home and cell phones when we inquired about how we would learn the ropes. We were quite impressedd and still are. Go McDougle Dolphins!!!
