My wife went the other day and got some lamb shanks which were $5.99 per lb. She said the meat selection was impressive with dry aged beef and giant cut steaks . They only sell choice meat and better. We had their free beef tips today and it was good

I need to make a personal visit

It's more expensive than supermarket meat. To me the prices seemed comparable to Fresh Market. It's definitely a specialty store, they are not trying to compete on price - they are offering quality and variety that you won't find in the supermarket.

Did anyone notice or try the chicken? I'm getting really grossed out by supermarket chicken. I'm willing to pay more if it really seems better.

We had some samples (cooked) of their italian marinated chicken, it was very tender and tasty... better than anything I've grilled myself with supermarket chicken, but maybe I'm just a bad cook. If I remember correctly their marinated chicken was around $5/pound. I think the plain chicken was around $4.

We bought some ground sirloin 92% lean for $3.00 a pound, I usually pay $2.99 a pound for ground beef at BJ's. We also bought some marinated ribeye's for $11.00 a pound. I think the chicken was around $4 a pound I'm not really positive on that and I pay $2.99 a pound at BJ's.

Boneless skinless chicken breast was 3.99 a lb. I usually pay 4.99 for chicken tenderloins at Fresh Market.

What I LOVED is that they will split up your meats and do a vacuum seal for them just as you want it. I love this since when I usually come home from Fresh Market or Wholefoods, I end up having to do that at home in plastic freezer bags.

I had some of their natural lean ground beef (they grind at the store) and it was very good. I think it was 4.49 a lb.

On their website, the Meat House website, it says that the poultry is raised in health environments so that makes me think it has to be a smite better than the typical Tyson, Perdue, etc.

I think the prices are on a line with Fresh market.

They seem to be a full service butchers . The lamb shanks we got had been frozen because they said there is not a large demand for them .
They did say that if you call they will defrost frozen meat for you, ready in time for your pick up

I will still buy most of my meat from Costco because the price/quality suits my needs but will visit the speciality place for special cuts/occasions

Today's twongo (Twongo) deal is for The Meat House. Great deal for an otherwise pricier store.
