Anyone heard of or seen coyotes in the Jordan Lake area? We live in a neighborhood backed up to the lake and army corps land and our neighbor just told us he's seeing them on his "deer cam" in his backyard at night. Doesn't really surprise me I guess, but I honestly didn't realize they were this close to where I live. Guess we'd better keep the chihuahua on leash and in sight from now on.

Default Food source & Predators

I imagine the further we get into winter and the more scarce their favorite food sources become for all animals (ie. plants for deer and rabbit?) the predators won't be far behind.

Ditto if any there is any big construction clearing as we are seeing up 55/540 in the natural areas where the deer used to be - it has pushed deer into neighborhoods and the predators will follow.

If you really have a chihuhua in Jordan Lake you'll also want the leash on him/her so you can tether Tiny from the airborne joyride with a hawk or eagle!

At least we aren't in Florida - we had bobcats, snakes & coons in the yard and even an alligator on our driveway! Minutes from Disney!
