Default Pictures of Clayton, Part TWO!!!

I took my camera out with this morning on my way to hit up a few yard sales.

Since I was in the shopping mood, I took a couple shots of the local shopping centers in the area. Note: White Oak shopping center is actually in Garner. Its right outside of Clayton. Clayton & Garner both run on Hwy 70, east part is Clayton, west part is Garner.

I also took a few more shots of the Anderson homes @ Cobblestone displaying the lot sizes. I also ventured into the KB Homes @ Cobblestone as well so you can get a really good idea on how the lots compare.

More to come over the weekend! We got a couple of more photographers in Clayton taking pictures, so more links will soon be posted! Keep checking back!

Ferrick- the Anderson homes are very nice, however isn't the lots smaller, aren't they in city limits. Also I heard the elementary school left a lot to be desired for? Cooper Elementary? Thanks for clearing it up.

Lauren- we are looking into Tafton can you tell me any other info abuot that area? Were there children playing, the neighbors seem to be outside? How is the middle school archer Lodge, I havent heard much about that.

svenskagirl2- I have a few of riverwood middle in the previous clayton pics one thread if you want to look at those.
ferrick and lauren- great jobs!
njrover- I still stick up for Cooper- it's a great school.
and yes, there's developments all over, new ones with trees, new ones with no trees, old ones with trees, usually you'll find the biggest lots in the older developments. (and the biggest trees) Depends on the builder, some break it down into larger lots, and Clayton/Johnston is trying to restrict the lot sizes on all new developments, which should keep the area from resembling the more congested areas.

Sure....what would you like to know? Feel free to ask specific questions.

Funny thing, when we first looked here we didn't see any children and were worried about it a bit (not enough to NOT move here). But there are many children here....are new and many are not. To give you an idea. We have 5 and 8 year old boys. Next door they have 6 and 8 year old girls. Next to them is a 2 year old. Across from that family is a newborn, 2 year old and 3 1/2 year old. Across the street from us is a 4 and 6 year old girl and 16 year old girl. On the other side of us is a new house being built, they have an adult child. Behind us there are about 5 houses, all with varying ages of children (2 to 3 per house). And there are more on our street....about 12 more houses with children in all but I think 3 of them.

I have heard that the other street in our development is much different with less children but the houses are all resales there. Here....from next to us on is all new development and lots not cleared yet.

We love the area, its quiet, kids are all always playing. I never get anything done because the parents are all always out talking at different points of the day. The elementary school is FABULOUS as I'm sure some might have seen me rave about in other threads. The Archer Lodge Middle as someone has noted is being built and is opening in the fall and we are slotted for it. Assuming it will be just as good.

Lauren

How is your electric bills there in the Tafton S/D. I am leaving Maryland for several reasons, but one main reason is I want my child to be able to play with other kids in a safe community. I live in a great community now, but I am on the main strip and there are older people here with high schools kids. People my age can not really afford my area. Did you build your house from scratch? If so how long did construction take? When you build a house do you start making payments the date they start building, or is it after they have finished and you move in? How bad would a commute be to say downtown Raleigh? Thanks for taking the time. You might see me in your neighborhood the week of JUne, I will be driving a silver SUV I know most southerners hate us northerners with SUV, however, I travel a great deal to northern NY(where they got all that snow last yr) so I need 4 WD and to NJ. I have two very large dogs, 150 lb and 100 lbs, so I needed room for them as well. I wish I could get something smaller! Also how is your HOA? Are they dog restricted? Can I put a pool in? Can I put a fence up?
