We're gathering information for a move to North Carolina late this summer. Does anyone have any new information on The Preserve at Smith Creek.....homes for sale.....good or not so good things about that community? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much'!

We looked at it a couple years ago,but it was to far from shopping and most homes had propane, which is way to expensive. We went with something closer to shopping in a natural gas community.

If you like that general area, there's another s/d nearby--also on Bruce Garner Rd. in southern Granville Co.--called Hawthorne; it does have some new homes still for sale--some with good promotions (interest rates), I think.

I like The Preserve at Smith Creek. Although it is in Granville County, it has a Wake Forest address. I have clients that moved here from NY that purchased in there. They love it. They love the pool and the large lots and the friendliness of the homeowners.

There are currently 8 homes for sale. Looks like 3 are brand new and 1 is a possible foreclosure.

Vicki--just curious. The Preserve at Smith Creek is just a couple miles on up Bruce Garner from Hawthorne (maybe I have my s/d's mixed up, though), "deeper" into Granville Co., right? How is it that the Preserve has a Wake Forest address, but on the house search thingy, it shows the homes in Hawthorne as having a Creedmoor address?

It has to do with the way the counties run. If you look at a map, you'll see what I mean.

I rememeber seeing Hawthorne but now I can't remember if it is before The Preserve or after. No, wait. I think you could be right, Hawthorne is before The Preserve.

I sold a home off Purnell Road once that part of the home was in Granville County and the other part was in Franklin county!

There is a new shopping center in Youngsville that opened in 2009. This is about (7) miles away.
The Preserve is in WF, but in Granville County. It is (35) minutes from RDU and The Research
Triangle. Hawthornes price points are about (on the avearge) $100k higher.

Thanks, Vicki. Yes, Hawthorne comes a couple of miles before Smith Creek. It's very pretty area out there.
