I am searching for Whiskey or Wine Barrels. I want them completely intact (not planters) and don't care if they were used or the condition. I am using them as an outdoor decoration for a party. Does anyone know a place locally that sells them? Thanks.

You could call the local wineries. If I remember correctly, these barrels go for like $400 each.

New, yes. But used they could be free if the winery can't use them anymore. I think that they lose their oak character after only one batch of whiskey and only a few batches of wine sit on them. Your best bet in this area would be wine barrels. Brewers often buy them at this point to age beers. Nothing like a strong Scotch ale aged in a whiskey barrel

Wondering if you ever found these barrels? I, too, am looking for barrels for a wedding reception and am unable to find any here in NC.

About the closest place I could find is in Yadkinville at The Carolina Wine Supply. The used ones sell for $325-345. They weigh over a hundred pounds, so the shipping would be expensive. Is it worth driving out there? Here's the web site if you want to contact them: ReCoop Barrels

I am the OP. I got one off of craigslist from a guy in Greensboro. I think I paid $75. We loved it so much I kept it to put in my dining room. I recently saw 1/2 whiskey barrels at Kroger, but I am sure you are looking for nicer ones that don't smell as bad.
