Driade, easily. The lattes there are incomparable - smooth and rich. Not to mention the ambience.

Cup A Joe on Hillsborough Street and The Third Place. There is one at Quail Corners that I like but cannot remember the name.

Haven't been here long enough to check out a ton of places, but I got the best latte I've found at Reverie on Hillsborough right across from State.

What about Helios on Glenwood in Raleigh? I was reading the 'cupcake' story in the N&O yesterday, and one of them was sold at Helio's coffee shop. I might just stop by for a coffee and a cupcake! Anyone ever been?

Is this one that uses pods that you can refill

With the Kuerig k-cups brewers you buy a little basket that you can fill with your own coffee. It's pretty good, but I found that I tried out alot of the prefilled k cups and have 1 favorite in particular. Green Mountain's Donut House blend, that only comes in kcups. I wish it also came in whole beans or 1 pound bags.

I neglected to mention Three Cups, a place I adore to no end. I hope they're open tomorrow in the storm - it would be fun to walk there for a couple of cups of whatever, then walk home, buzzed by coffee and wine.

Swift Creek Coffee House (http://swiftcreekcoffeehouse.food.officelive.com/default.htm - broken link) in Garner is my little happy place. To bad I don't go as often as I'd like.

The coffee is quite good at Bean Traders in Durham. I believe they have one now in Chapel Hill off Hwy 54 in that development who's name escapes me... Can anyone else think of it?

I do like Green Mountain coffee and that the Caribou is connected (literally) to the Bruegger's in Cary. I wish they were all built like that!
I received a keurig coffe maker for Christmas and it makes me want to angrily confront everyone who sold me "coffee" in the past. They should all be punished with extreme prejuidice for passing their disgusting black water off as coffee!
