The only thing I miss from NJ are the large silver Victorian radiators. It was like having a fireplacce in every room.

We are below 30 long enough, often enough that heat pumps are wholly inadequate. I lived in a NC house with oil heat, and it heated so much better. However, the oil bills were awful. Of course, this winter's gas bills have been atrocious too, and the worst bills are yet to come!

Perhaps hot-natured people can get by ok with heat pumps in the Triangle, but many others, the climate is far too cold for heat pumps.

My heat pumps put out 80* air when it was 15*-18* last night. Using the aux strips it got it to around 110*.
