To answer my own question, Wal-Mart, Blockbuster, and just about everything else is WIDE OPEN and doing pretty good business.

But the roads are bad, and getting worse, so if you're heading out you might wanna do it sooner rather than later.

We just walked the dogs for what seems like the 50th time in an attempt to get them to relieve themselves. It appears they are a bit confused as to 'where' exactly to go, poor guys.

I noticed there is quite a bit of slush here and there. When it freezes tonight, it will certainly be treacherous tomorrow. I have been enjoying the look just outside my windows, but will be glad when it's gone.

My sister in Wilmington called to say they are just seeing cold rain, temps about 30.

What on earth could anyone possibly need from Walmart and Blockbuster so desperately that they had to get there TODAY?? Just, why? I swear some people thrive on drama and making trouble for themselves. Can't people just enjoy a day or 2 in their own home with family??? I am loving today! I made cookies, got laundry all done, some light housekeeping, played with our dog in snow, video'd sons clearing off walks/steps/cars, got chili in the crockpot, hot coffee in the pot and after my puter browsing I'm settling down with a good book and maybe a nap with warm doggie on my lap! People of NC, you can enjoy life without being at Walmart in an NC snow event, just to say you were there and prove that you can drive on ice/snow.

My husband is out grocery shopping for me this very instant...and yes, it is needed!

I was supposed to go yesterday but because of all the "hysteria" regarding this storm, but I had to stay at work and help with their "weather emergency plan" instead.

We have no groceries in the house and payday wasn't untill yesterday. My husband is traveling for work Sunday evening so he offered to head to the store today instead of leaving me stranded with 4 kids and no food before he travelled.

He figured better today than tomorrow when things ice up.

I'm praying the airport is still closed tomorrow and he doesn't have to go!

So I got some stuff yesterday at the grocery as well. Didn't like it but we didn't have too much at home and had to wait till payday (which was yesterday). I don't leave the house in weather like this b/c the last thing I need is to get stranded b/c I slide off the side of the road with a 2 year old.

Anyway. I figured I would cook something in the crock pot just incase we lost energy for a while the crock pot would stay warm enough and we wouldn't have to waste sandwiches and such. All I can say is when I woke up this morning and smelled that pot roast, I was so happy. It was so good. I am so happy. Although taking by bulldog (who is all whites) outside is an adventure b/c one: she disappears and I have to look around the yard until she moves and two: she isn't using the bathroom b/c she is either cold or confused.
