This weather is made for crock pots! My tortilla soup is almost done.

I still can't find my keys. I hope to find them when the snow melts, but I hope the hawk doesn't take them.

Yeah, I don't quite get why people feel the need to go drive. And I've heard from more then one person that "wanted to get out of the house", we're not talking an emergency here. So you slide off the road, have to get back out, maybe a tow, dealing with insurance and body shop next week... Wow, that does indeed sound like a fun trip! WHY???

We too are utilizing our crock pot!! I made a huge batch of Mexican veggie soup and everyone has just been eating whenever they are in the mood! Yum!! I also made an apple cake with caramel icing. We have the fire going and are having a great day at home with the whole family!

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. Here is a shot from my backyard I just took. If you look close enough you can see the great flag of the US flying next to the red boat.

I couldn't get Bella (actually Snowbella) to stay still long enough to take a decent photo but this is what I could get.

Airport is open today, and according to the online flight status site, flights are coming and going--albeit a lot have been cancelled.

I've been keeping track because hubby is coming home from Germany today. His connection from Newark to RDU is still "on schedule" for arriving tonight. However, I don't think I'm going to risk driving to the airport for him, esp. in the dark. Hopefully he can find a taxi still operating.

I agree. If you don't have to go out...don't. Even up North, most of us Northerners would follow that advice. (Notice, I said some. Being an idiot is equal opportunity.)

I saw this on a friend's Twitter page and I think it's a hilarious

Snow on da ground.... Snow on da ground... drivin' like a fool when there's snow on da ground....look at ya now... car spinning 'round...

I don't care who you are...that's right there is funny.

DARN! Well, I can keep my fingers crossed that his flight is cancelled!

My husband does the Newark to RDU from Germany flight often...EVERY time he flies through Newark he is delayed or it's cancelled..etc. That airport is a jinx for him.

I agree with you though, my husband would be taking a taxi if I were in your shoes! Good luck with the flights and hoping for a safe and on-time arrival for you both!
