DH and I took an early weekend get away (and boy did we need it) to see Wilmington and the coast for the first time. We were going to return to Raleigh tomorrow (Saturday) leaving here at about noon.
Are the roads going to be hazardous? It's ice that concerns me...
I'm beginning to feel under the weather (no pun intended, honest...) so I've been agitating to go home as scheduled, although we've had a wonderful time.
But hubby asked how much worse I'd feel if I were feeling icky and it takes twice the time to get home, let alone the "quality" of the drive.
Our neighbors are cat-sitting for us, we left the heat on for our pet... is there anything we need to ask them to do as far as the house, etc?
I'm sure they'd call if the power goes out, but just thought I'd ask.
Thank you all. I'm going to still hope the forecast is erring on the high side.
Ask them to bring in the mail (if it arrives). Because of their footsteps in the snow when they visit to feed your cat, your house will look like somebody is home, and that's a good thing.
There's nothing more to worry about! Relax and enjoy another day!
Staying is good. There's a lot to do in Wilmington, especially in terms of great restaurants on the river. Hunker down and watch the news - I imagine it'll be fine to come back by Sunday.
If the power goes out the cats will be fine for a night. Sure it will be a little chilly inside, but there is no wind or wet, and they will find something to cozy into and stay warm.
I'd stay if you can. Be careful out there....sleet coming down for a while now in southern wake.
