I'm hoping the schools will be closed on Monday at the very least because I suspect the roads will still be iffy, and also because I'll probably get a day off work if the schools are closed.

From what I am hearing most schools in wake Chatham, durham counties will be closed for a good portion of the week. Almost all secondary roads are iced over with 3 inches of solid ice. Which is not melting anytime soon. I would say thursday would be the first day back. Say goodbye to the spring break this year.

capt chill, where do you live? Three inches of solid ice? The roads are not too bad here in Cary.

I'd say Wednesday w/ a two hr delay.

^^exactly the highways are not the issue. It's the secondary roads and also just because Cary is ok doesn't mean the northern tip of Wake County is ok. Since we're a county school system we all have to be ok before they'll approve the kids to get their learn on.
