Been there, done that..
Lovely girl, not enough experience. Pretty green with a pair of scissors, IMO.

Been a faithful client of Salon Suzanne Marie for about 4 years now...I have SUPER thick hard to manage hair and they always do an awesome job. It's tough to get an appointment though, I called last week and couldn't get in to see her until March 13. Could be because I can really only go on Saturdays though.

I've finally found a place. Curl up and dye with Kim in downtown Cary. Kim really knows what she is doing. Even the practice cut her intern gave me is great, and she was severely limited by the last guy cutting a bunch of "fringe" I did not want and hated! Now it blends in with the rest of my haircut, and it still looks good (not an obvious "let's hide what's wrong and wait for your hair to grow cut")

Thanks. I am going to give Kim a call. My daughter wants to do something cute and funky with her hair. A few little streaks or highlights or something too and this place is not very far from me at all.

I went to Bella Trio in Durham (not too far up 55 or 40 from Cary) for over a year (Claire) and was very happy but it got to a point where it was too far for me (was in Chatham County at the time). I'm now going to EnV Color Bar (Tracy) in Apex on N. Salem Street. Again, very happy...and I'm picky...used to live in Boston and D.C. and have been to some great stylists.

Who does a great job with thick, straight hair? I have tried half a dozen in Cary and always ended up with a choppy, hard to manage cut.

My hair is really thick and looks decent with deep point cutting and side cutting to thin out the bulk.

Finally, ended up driving to Aveda in Chapel Hill where about ever other time I get a half way decent haircut. Tired of the drive. Tired of the every other times.

Wish I could find a great stylist nearby who knew how to get the best out of thick hair.
