Any suggestions for a tailor/establishment in Raleigh area that makes custom slipcovers (for kitchen counter stools)? Thanks!

Good luck!

I needed something like that done and used an individual, rather than a shop, and while she did do a good job in the end there were other issues that keep me from recommending her.

You can ask at any upholstery shop and it will probably be super expensive. Another option I just learned of for custom work is to post using the Etsy Alchemy feature (check it out!) and I have gotten some great stuff, at very reasonable price this way.

This is assuming that you are comfortable doing the measurements to send to someone -- since they are slipcovers, I assume they don't need to be permanently attached.

My 2 cents: I've had some slipcovers done however it was by someone in California who is no longer in business. When I look back at the cost I wondered if it would have been more prudent to have checked out to see if I liked anything first in retail stores for a replacement. My slipcovers were expensive considering I purchase the fabric beforehand that was on sale. I searched high and low for someone who slipcovers and someone good is definately hard to find these days. I am now looking at a chair I would like to slipcover again but I am thinking I will first checkout re-buying it rather than re-doing the slipcovers. I love the slipcovered look however!

Check out Etsy -- you may be surprised how the open market brings the cost down -- it's the Alchemy feature.

I am now having pants custom made for my son to the tune of $15 a pair.
