I still say the TSA decides what gets on a plane, whether at RDU or any other airport.

As for getting hold of local Sikhs--sgncweb.org.

i've heard of sikhs that wear essentially a very small dagger necklace (think a cross necklace, for size/comparison) to satisfy the requirement when unable to do otherwise. the headmaster for my wife's high school was a sikh and did that.

it really is part of the religion, and it's not an unreasonable discussion. nevertheless, i think concealed on school grounds wouldn't give the wearer much trouble, but i'd assume you'd have to check it with the luggage on a flight.

I have a few Sikh friends and I don't believe it has to be a full on battle sword. They can wear things that can be kirpanesque.
