Default What are Duke's "job families" ?

I was thinking of applying for a job at Duke and the pay is not disclosed, I just saw the words "[SIZE=2]08 Job family 16, with a University Job code of
0281." Are there any Duke employees out there who can translate this into English for me? Is there a place on Duke's website that will give the scales/rates for these "families" or "job codes?" I can't tell for sure via the description/title whether I'm overqualified or not. Knowing the pay would help

I don't believe they have it on the site. I believe its only avail to Duke employee mgrs on their intranet.
Do you mean Job Family "Level" 16? I'll Dm you some info.

When I worked at Duke my staff assistant who had been there for maybe 12 yrs longer than me, wasn't aware of it and neither where other SA's who I asked. But mgrs were. This is why I thought that it was associated with your Duke unique iD, login (perhaps?).I was easily able to pull it up. But, I no longer work there so obviously don't have access.

Call the Duke human resources department. They don't bite! They were more than willing to reveal salary and classification information to me.

Raleighlass, I'm not sure when they changed it, but I've been here 2 years and have always had access.

Dave-I left 2.5 yrs ago...I know the info was protected by not being on their public HR pages. Who knows if/when they changed it. Just glad you were able to help the OP. It was a level 8, more like a SA, not 16, big diff in the $$ range
