My hubby and I are getting ready to demo our master bathroom.
Do the guys around here charge by the board? hour? start to finish?
The bathroom itself is about 5'6"Wx 8'0L w/ a cathedral ceiling that has a hole for a skylight. We'd like to know approx how much we'd be looking at paying (ballpark- I know there will never be an exact).
We thought about doing it ourselves, but don't care to screw up and do what the previous homeowner did. "Mr. DIY" screwed up anything he touched in this house
We just want to fix his mistakes and make sure everything is good for future use.

Thanks in advance

I had a 400 sq foot bonus room added on this past spring. From my own experience the dry wall companies bid my project by the job. There were also some that would cut the cost if I purchased the drywall, mud, and supplies myself and all they needed to do was show up. One of the most important things IMO is to make sure they carry insurance for themselves and anyone else they plan on having on your job site.

awesome! thanks your your great bit of info/ advice.
Did you seek out different estimates yourself? What avenues did you look thru- referrals, newspaper, phonebook, online, etc to get the bids?

I found a husband/wife team on craigslist. DM me if you want their info. They were awesome and right in the middle price wise. The best part is they came to my home when they said they would and finished ahead of schedule.
