Default research triangle park

It may sound silly to those of you who are locals. but is research triangle park a region, or is it an actual office building industrial park location?

I'm asking because my husband interviewed at a company there and was in unbelieveable traffic. if it's an industrial park then the traffic's probably that bad everywhere there, but if it's a region then maybe he just had bad luck.

The RTP is a huge area in Durham County, overlapping into Wake County that was set aside 50 years ago for corporate campuses.

Traffic is bad, particularly at peak drive times.
But it is the major economic engine for the Triangle Region.
Roads are under construction, and under study for construction.
