Nursing jobs will always be more in demand than others, but NC is in the top 7 or so state in unemployment right now. Best to find a job BEFORE deciding to move here.

I was speaking with a student advisor from Wake Tech Community College recently and she said that for the first time ever, entry level nursing graduates were not getting snapped up immediately, they were having a hard time finding a job. I don't know the impact on nurses with experience but as Francois said, best to find a job before moving here.

There are still plenty of RN jobs available in the area. Do you have hospital experience? If so, do you have a specialty? There are fewer entry level jobs around. I'd suggest doing a search of our local hospital websites.

Duke - will list positions at all Duke Hospitals (Duke Medical Center, Duke Health Raleigh and Durham Regional Hospital. Google Duke HR
Rex Healthcare
Wake Med - will include Raleigh and Apex campuses
UNC Hospitals
VAMC - in Durham (very few openings here)
