Default How to Report a Shady Appraiser

Hi everyone
My husband and I feel that the person who recently appraised the house we were going to move into was VERY shady. He misrepresented our number of bedrooms, land, etc and the comps he used were from 10 months to one year ago on brick homes (ours isnt brick).

I feel that he was trying his best to "make" this house appriase.

Can I report him? Should I? I found several mistakes in his appraisal.

After all this song and dance for the past few months, we have decided to not buy this house. We got a few market analysis from Real estate friends who said that it would appraise about 30-40K less. Well, this guy appraised it for 1000 more--basically we will lost our ernest money, but I dont care about that too much.

OK, did you follow this? LOL Long story short-I think this appriaser was shady. Our broker doesnt give a rats @#$@# how much the house is worth, just that he gets his commission.

So if I read that right, you made an overpriced offer on a house hoping the appraisal would come in low and save you some money?

Kind of a crazy approach to buying a house but I guess whatever works.

I know for sure when the appraiser comes out he knows the number on the contract and they are trying to get that number.
If he flat out lied to make the numbers look good he could be in hot water, I know the Bank wouldnt be very pleased to find out.
