Hi there,
Anyone know of a bowling alley in the area that has amateur - laid back leagues? I am looking to find something for adults/couples that is on weekends and is for beginners - not pro bowlers! If anyone knows anything let me know. Trying to find a good way to meet some other couples in the area and have fun too. If you know anything not a bowling league that might be helpful too, but me and my boyfriend both like to bowl

It's not on weekends, but my husband has been in a co-ed league at Capital Lanes in Raleigh for a couple of years. He's been trying to get me to join as well.

may want to check out www.meetandcompete.com We did the bowling league with them for the winter and have been having a lot of fun. Their stuff is very laid back. No bowling for the spring though . Most people doing stuff with them are in the age group of 25-35.

Almost EVERY "house" (bowling alley) has leagues every night of the week. I would call around and ask them what leagues might fit what you're looking for (as opposed to, say, a league of folks who all work together, which wouldn't be the place for an outsider) and the "laid-back" factor. The folks at the desk know the leagues and the people in the very well. AMF Fair Lanes on Capital Blvd is the house of a league I was in for many years, but really, leagues are how they make their money, so pretty much any night of the week, any bowling alley, you'll find one, and every league always has spaces for substitutes and usually vacancies on a team somewhere.
