Cary's property tax rate is the city tax which is .33. You will also pay a county tax of .534 for a combined rate of .864. The formula is the assessed rate of the divided by 100 then multiplied by this rate.
Sales tax is 7.75 which is on almost everything.
There is an income tax. It varies based on your taxable income. I think the average is around 7% give or take depending on your income.
There is also a vehicle tax on the value of the car. Same formula as above.
There is also a personal property tax if you own a boat etc.
There are also nominal misc fees. Recycling and Decal fees. There is also a fire district tax added to the property tax if the property happens to be located in one of these districts.
