And someone sounds very much like a banned member.
And I'm trying to keep all the jobs for myself. Right.

Not everyone in NY state lives in NYC. A NY unemployment check goes a lot further in most of NY than in the Triangle.
Agreed but up state NY is probably not as much like NYC as the Triangle. DC metro area is different from Eastern Shore of Virginia and probably more from suburban DC (very expensive) would like the Triangle more. The Triangle is a lot cheaper than many metro areas in the North East and Mid Atlantic States. Sure folks from other parts of the country might not be attracted. Just like so many retired transplants came so will others on sorta fixed incomes that go further here. Forget buying and selling a house compared to most metro areas north of here apartment rentals are a lot less expensive.

To support your argument that parts of New York are equally inexpensive compared to NYC I offer the following cost of living comparison between Albany NY and Raleigh. Raleigh is a tad more expensive because of housing(much more expensive) but cheaper in other areas. Thus it for the individual the relative cost will be greatly impacted by housing choice and which area/climate they prefer. Yes the individual exercising their choice of where to live.

Raleigh is 1% more expensive than Albany.
Housing is the biggest factor in the cost of living difference.
Yup as a state NC is in big trouble long term. One needs only thing of two reasons to understand why.
High school drop out rate state wide
Dependency on construction and manufacturing jobs in many counties
Oh yeah Charlotte has issues to deal with.
The Triangle is in a different position and we can thank RTP and the influx of 21st century jobs in the region.
That is what cracks me up. People keep using bad NC numbers as an example of how bad the Triangle is. It is apples and oranges. Besides, if the Triangle was as bad as some people say, wouldn't you think they would have left this awful place. That said, it will get a whole lot worse everywhere.
Are you implying the Triangle is the same as NC as a whole? I think most people would realize the Triangle is a whole lot different than the vast majority of extremely poor parts of NC.
I simply posted a link and accurately stated that the article related to the state of North Carolina. Not sure where you're coming up with the "are you implying" question from that. You can read the article for yourself and draw your own conclusions. I didn't offer any.
