Default Tour of Raleigh

Hello everyone. I am down from NY visiting with friends and want to show them Raleigh tomorrow. Can anyone recomend any parts of the city to show them. Is there a main "strip" with all the stores and all that stuff. Any other stuff in Raleigh that we would want to see? Thanks

You've picked a bad day - I think it's going to rain all day tomorrow. If you still plan to tour Raleigh, Fayetteville Street downtown is the main street between the State Capitol and the Progress Energy Center - not many shops though, mainly office buildings and restaurants and alot of building construction. The Governor's Mansion is on Blount Street downtown and so is the City Market although most shops I think will be closed. The Farmers Market off Lake Wheeler is always worth a trip although Saturday is a better day than Sunday. Also Cameron Village has alot of neat shops and most are open Sunday.
