For quite some time I've been thinking of getting black gravel for my driveway, however I'm unable to locate a business that has it.

I've searched the internet using: 'black gravel', 'black aggregate', 'black rock', 'gravel colors'.... then adding the word 'driveway' to each and have been unsuccessful. So now I'm beginning to wonder if it doesn't exist...

I'm also interested in black mulch for my landscaping, I just love how it frames nature's colors, allowing the contrast to POP against it.

I'm in Franklinton and will consider ALL locations you're able to suggest....

I use black mulch and have gotten it from Mulch Masters. It's a bit more than the standard triple shred but looks fantastic at my house.

The first two show black mulch on their websites, and I'm pretty sure the others carry it as well, call first. Call to see about black rocks. Most of these places are Capital Blvd/540 in Raleigh.

If you want to try a little of the black mulch out first you may just want to pick up a couple bags of Scott's Nature Scapes in black. They carry it at Lowes and Home Depot.

Has anyone used the blower applied mulch from Carolina Mulch express??? Was wondering how much more expensive this is compared to the standard $24-$26/yd for dumped mulch.

Have you tried searching decorative landscaping gravel or lava rock or slate chips?

I just got a quote for $44/yd for "blower applied" mulch. While that seems expensive, I had it done 2 yrs ago, so it lasted 2 seasons. It is the black mulch too & it never faded. I used Eco Pro Mulch .
