I was disappointed to not find many threads on happy hour in the triangle. I'll take all suggestions for Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill and beyond because my work requires me to be in various locations around the triangle.

Happy Hours are illegal in NC.

That's because NC doesn't have happy hours. We have happy days

Brio in Crabtree although no drink specials has a killer bar menu from 5-7? I believe it is, then again at 9pm. All things on it are 3 bucks, and they have a killer burget with home made chips.

Well, now I am sad to learn of the legality of an NC Happy Hour.
I expected plenty of answers to my thread, so I was not going to speak of McCormick's but I think I will post their specials.
McCormick & Schmick's in Crabtree has a superb bar food menu from 4pm-6pm?, which features selected menu items from $1.95 to $4.95, which may include Peel and Eat Shrimp and our famous $2.95 Pound Cheeseburger. There are plenty of food choices. Other locations I've been to had drink specials as well even though NC apparently does not allow such practice.

Beyond McCormick's, I know Bandido's in Chapel Hill does 99 cent tacos on Wednesday evenings and Mez restaurant off Page road in Durham has a $2.00 taco happy hour from 4-6 p.m.

Happy hour for food is fine. As for alcohol they are all day specials. That's why they are happy days, not happy hours You will find many places have specials going on by days of the week.

I heard McCormick and Schmidt in Crabtree is really good for "happy hour". I heard that the food is really cheap to offset the cost of drinks.
I, for one, applaud the state for being proactive in deterring drunks at the end of rush hour by eliminating "happy hours".

Ruths Chris has an amazing $5 menu thats almost too good to be true.

The Borough downtown is one of the hidden gems I have found in Raleigh....amazing food, great service, upbeat atmosphere. The appetizer list is a menu in itself and is half price during HH - best corn chowder you'll ever have by the way.

Tobacco Road downtown!! $3 half pound cheeseburgers, Mac&Cheese (awesome), Chicken Sandwhichs, wings. It's awesome! And it's not too packed usually. You have to order a drink to get the cheap food but beers around only like $2 for a miller lite.

IMO, I think it's the most retarded thing about NC... there are never any good drink specials here, it would cost too much to do an all day happy hour on more expensive drinks.
