And there are very ambitious development plans for Durham on the horizon...just look at what Scientific, Greenfire, etc... have in the works; it's exciting stuff!
I would be curious to see a similar list for Cary given the significant votes in the poll.
I just think that there are a lot of Cary people on this thread.
Interesting. According to this site, my current neighborhood area in Durham has a safer rating than my old neighborhood area in north Raleigh.
Another popular site, greatschools dot net, shows that our base elementary school in Durham is better rated and has better test scores than what would have been our base elem. school in north Raleigh, too.
FWIW, we lived in a desirable and family friendly area in North Raleigh...Falls River, and now live in a small neighborhood near Riverside High School in Durham.
Easy to do when all it takes is some clearcutting and bulldozing. How are the initial sections of Cary sprawl that are 20+ years old doing?

The 35 year old part of Cary I live in is doing great. One jerk who made a bad investment and bought a house where a major road was planned, and then didn't take care of it or allow the town to help him fix it, is not representative of the rest of an entire town.
But to answer the specific question, I'd have to pick Durham out of the choices provided if we're looking at a 5 year time frame. Otherwise I would choose either Apex and Wake Forest.
