They are quite common here. They grow well. My parents' neighbors have had them in their yard for 5-10 years and they always smell GGGRREEAT!

You would probably have loads of responses if you had noted Gardenia in your title... They are plentiful in this area, to be sure!

I save all of my coffee grounds and feed the soil around my "Cape Jessamine Starbucks"!

I have one that was a cutting from one at my previous home. I planted it in an area that it didn't thrive in, then moved it. I basically did all I could to kill the poor thing, but managed to get some topsoil from a pine forest, and filled a bed with that for my gardenias and encore azaleas. They've all done well for the past 10 years or so, and those gardenias smell wonderful! I like to bring the blooms in and put them in a rose bowl.

Default Yes!

Count me in!

We have several of them in our back yard, and they seem to need nothing to do well. We aren't able to water them, so they survive on whatever rain or dry spells we get. I trim off the dead blooms when I can; some are hard to reach because the plants are almost 8 feet tall in places.

I didn't know that they would benefit from Starbucks coffee grounds, which I have!
(I'm not a gardener--need to work on that, read up on my plantings someday.)
