After much searching for a kitchen table that will sit at least 8 people, I finally found one in the pottery barn catalog. Love the table but not the price. Any one know of a place I could buy the table cheaper or a place that has similar products?
Thanks for your help.
We bought that exact table 6 years ago (when they were still made from solid wood). We used a 10% off promotional code (from a mailer) to purchase it. It arrived with a small ding and PB offered us another 30% off to keep it.
If you purchase the item in an actual store, there is (at least in previous years) a 5% discount if you spend over a certain amount. You can add this discount to any other coupons/promo codes.
I've been told, but have never looked into this...supposedly you can by PB coupons on Ebay.
Nice table! Funny enough, we've had really good luck finding PB-esque furniture at the big box stores like Costco and Sam's Club. Seriously. We have a wine buffet that looks EXACTLY like the Montego wine buffet (minus the hutch). We bought it at Sam's Club for somewhere around $400. I've even checked out the PB version in the store after we bought ours. Right down to the thick-wall drawers and dovetail construction, I cannot tell the difference.
Don't know if the price is any better, but you can also check out Bassett furniture. I do NOT recommend the Raleigh store due to their shady tactics, but the brand is good. Find a corporate-owned store or order online, but the furniture is VERY solid AND you can custom design the table to meet your exact wants/needs.
Lastly Heavner Furniture Mart sometimes has PB-esque stuff. Not always, but sometimes. Can't beat the price and the inventory is always changing.

PS - Yes, you can buy PB coupons on ebay. As stupid as it may seem, it does work. I bought the coupon for $10 and it saved me about $130, so well worth the effort.
Just be sure you realize that their tables are veneered and mdf, not solid wood through and through. If you're okay with that then go for it. You can spend 1600 somewhere else and get something that is solid through and through.
