I just applied for my boys to move to the YR option, hope it will be approved. So curious, did any of you do it as well?

We still haven 't decided what we're going to do. We were all set to send our son (kindergarten this fall) to Yates Mill, when we discovered that our YR option had changed from Timber Drive to Adams. Adams is a good school (much better in test scores than Yates Mill and Timber) but it's a good 12 miles from our house. But then what will happen next year if (or when) the "neighborhood" school plan goes into effect? They're talking about neighborhoods being within a 3-7 mile (the quote I saw) radius of your house. . . . so I doubt that Adams would be an option for us next year. . . .but you never know.

We're staying put at Cary Elementary and Cary High. Both are traditional calendar.

I am looking forward to more responses to you poll.

I did not apply for any change since my children will now be able to go to a school less then a mile from our home. The calendar option DID NOT matter to us, all we wanted was to be able to attend a neighborhood school.

Up until now we were assigned to a MS that was 11 miles from our home, all the while passing 2 other MS's on the way, just to satisfy the socio-economic factor.
