Hi,

I'm getting ready to move to Chapel Hill and need to find a new piano teacher and voice teacher for my 11 year old--a music nut. She's an intermediate to advanced pianist and about the same in singing. Can anyone suggest teachers for one or the other?

Thanks!

travelgeek, I saw no one had answered your post and just wanted to let you know that the lack of response does not indicate a lack of music teachers! My kids don't take piano or voice or any other instrument, but I know many kids that do. I wish they were interested, but that's another subject. Anyway, I don't have a specific recommendation, but reportedly there are good ones out there. Hope another Chapel Hill resident will see this thread and be able to give you a more specific response.

Thanks! That's encouraging. Maybe I'll try posting again and be more specific.

There is a woman out of Chapel Hill named Lisa Randolph. She teaches violin but she is very good and when my son was going to start guitar out of Raleigh/Cary, she gave us a rec for a woman who turned out to be fabulous. I will PM you her email and/or phone. I would ask her as I am sure she would know of some options and I trust her judgment.

travelgeek, i know i am a bit late but i know what you (were?) feeling. i am moving to the chapel hill/cary area and my 12 year old daughter is in need of a piano teacher. she, too, is intermediate/advanced and we just left a fantastic teacher- very laid back but an incredible musician. she is also interested in voice- she's been involved in a bunch of musical theater things but never received any formal one-on-one training so probably a beginner level. now that its been a year or two do you have any advice?

Chapel Hill and Cary are pretty far apart, as far as regular lessons for a child needing to be driven. Which one will you be in? There should be good teachers in both, but you wouldn't want to make the commute between them all the time.

Hello,
Try MUSIC LESSONS IN PIANO,*GUITAR, VOICE, VIOLIN, CELLO, FLUTE, CLARINET, & SAXOPHONE LOCATED IN CHAPEL HILL NEAR DURHAM in Chapel Hill.
There are a lot of private teachers
1. Seamus Kenney in Chapel Hill
2. Monique Gannon at NC theater (NCT conservatory) in Raleigh

I don't have numbers right now but DM me if you can't find them.
