I have a court date this Friday in Raleigh, and I really need to re-schedule it. Anybody know the process and how difficult they make it? It's for a traffic violation, DWLR. Thanks for the help guys.

Have you tried calling the court clerk's office to see what they can do?

You'll have to appear in order to reschedule a court date, you can't do it over the phone. When you reschedule, you're asking the judge for more time. It is up to him/her to grant you more time for your case. If you do not appear on your court date a warrant will be issued for your arrest.

This late, your best bet is getting a lawyer to appear for you.

Funny, I have a court date the same day.

Call a lawyer, they will appear for you and it being this late shouldnt be a problem. They are just adding to the pile that they are negotiating that day anyway.
