Default In-home daycare recommendation perhaps? - Five Points

Well, unfortunatly it's time for supermom to go back to work full-time in Cary and we'll be in search of a full-time (4-5 days M-F from 9-6:00pm) in-home daycare to reduce the expense versus somewhere along the lines of Bright Horizons, which I've heard nothing but good things about.

Our son is 6 months old and fortunately, very healthy.

Our budget goal hovers around $150-200 weekly for an establishment as we understand that at this pricepoint, we wouldn't plan to use this expense as a child care credit on our income taxes.

much thanks!

Be very careful when selecting a in home daycare facility. While less expensive there may be things going on that you are and will never be aware of since it's not a chain establishment.

A co-worker of my wife's had her child in a 4 star licensed, highly reccomended in home day care. She left work early one day to go pick up said child and upon arriving at the child care providers house she found no one home, door locked and she could hear her child crying from inside the home. She was there for at least 15 minutes before the child care provider came back. When she confronted the child care provider, she attempted to tell my wife's co-worker that she was there the whole time.

While all daycare's have their ups and downs, in my opinion it's worth the extra $75-$100 per month to have your child in a stand alone day care facility.

The following link was EXTREMELY helpful when my wife and I were looking for a daycare facility.

Good luck!!

Feel free to send me a PM if you would like more specifics or some first hand stories.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. It's defninitely appreciated for sure!

That's a terrible story to hear that folks could be so careless. One I'm considering is right near my work that I'd visit a few times a week, should we choose them of course.
