Would like it to be somewhere you can have the ceremony and the reception at the same place. Anyone have any ideas? Please give a price range if you know one.
It's been a while (2002) but we got married here: Castle McCulloch - NC Wedding and Reception Location Site, Public Festivals, Gold & Gem Panning, Birthday Parties, Field Trips, Greensboro, NC

This is in Greensboro, though, so keep that in mind. (Wife's family is near there so it was okay for us.)

We wanted something "different" and cool so this fit for us. We had a ceremony in the Great Hall, walked out on the drawbridge and went downstairs into the Queens Chamber for drinks/snacks for 30-45mins, then back up to the Great Hall which got changed into a dining area where we had a catered dinner. We had about 50 people at our wedding as we wanted a small one, too.

I thought the prices were CHEAP compared to a lot of other things we looked at and the staff at Castle McCulloch was awesome. The catered dinner was the most expensive part of the whole thing by far. (Even that was reasonable by 2002 standards.)

you may also check out second empire. we had our reception there & were surprised at how reasonable it was in terms of all they do, together with the delicious food & atmosphere.
for a party that size, they could easily allow you the wedding in one of the rooms & dining in the upstairs rooms. their prices include the food & they do all the tables for you (fresh flowers on each table, any decorations you wish). they also allowed me to take my bridal portraits there for no cost. i loved working with tracy, their event planner & always found her reasonable, personable, & very accomodating.

you may also check out haywood hall house & gardens which is available for weddings & events. i've never been to it but have heard of a couple weddings there & the brides were satisfied with the experience.

also, you didn't say what area you wanted so i'll just throw this out there ... we attended a reception at the barn at valhalla in chapel hill. it was a sweet, rustic location & perfect for the bride & groom. it seemed the sort of location where you could have both the wedding & reception easily. i do recall the bride stating that they felt like the people were wonderful to work with & offered a fair price for all of the food & reception details.

Our son and daughter-in-law were married at that small chapel. It was the most beautiful intimate setting. We brought our own decorations, and had someone play a violin, and someone sing "At Last" accompanied by someone on an electric keyboard. It was absolutely perfect. The reception was held at the NC Museum of Art. Top notch food and great service there.
