Can anyone recommend a good veterinarian in this area that is reasonably priced? I have heard good things about Carrboro Plaza Vet. Clinic, but they seem very expensive compared what I was used to paying elsewhere.
Thank you so much.

Vine Vet on going down the hill on E Franklin is pretty good. Ken Redman is the vet there. The facilities are not all sparkly and high tech like the Animal Hospital, but very basic and left over from the 50s in the part that clients see (there's been a vet there for many, many decades), but the care is good. I think he's pretty reasonable, but vet bills do add up when you have more than one pet. He's good about trying to work out reasonable pricing and might suggest you get a larger size of Frontline for example and split it between two dogs. He's a funny guy, too.

The other vet in north Chapel Hill that I'm familiar with is:

Timberlyne and Legion Road Animal Clinics

They are near MLK and Weaver Dairy.

Before moving from Chapel Hill to Durham last year, I took my dogs to Timberlyne Animal Clinic for about 10 years. I don't know how the cost compares to others, but they didn't seem over-priced to me and when my dog got cancer, they were wonderful (Dr. Malone is great!).

Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic in Hillsborough is fantastic. I worked with them through the decline of my aging cat's life and they were thoughtful, understanding and never once tried to push an unnecessary procedure on us. I've been pleasantly amazed at the difference in $$ between there and our vet in Massachusetts, but I can't really comment on where they fall in comparison to others down here. We haven't been to anyone else and we're very happy with HVC.

I think most of the vets in CH/C area charge the same. You just have to chose your favorite but it won't be cheap. Nothing in Chapel Hill is.

Love, love, love Legion Rd. Animal Clinic. Dr. Tompkins is a saint, and understands and handles our pissy, people-hating cat so well. She, as well as the other vets and techs on staff, is also wonderful with our dogs. I just can't enough great things about the clinic. Before we moved to CH, we used Park Vet. Clinic in Durham, and were thoroughly underwhelmed - didn't know how different it could be until we switched to Legion Rd.
