Well, Trader Joes typical store is a quite a bit too small for the Old Kroger, but I bet it would be a good fit in the vacant space beside ACE. The only issue is the ACE adacent space was on teh market and available when Trader Joes selected their current store. I;m not sure how many stores they typically put in one metro area, so they may just want to stay central to Cary, Apex, Morrisville, etc if they only want a couple of stores in Wake Co.

Certainly won't hurt to request it though. I would love to see anything in the vacant space around here. Well, anything not low end, which is unfortunately the way we are heading at Davis and M-C with the Food Lion and Goodwill being across Davis from each other.

I did peek into the Food Lion/Bloom yesterday and the space was left as essntially a bare shell and they have just gotten started, so it will probably be a couple more months at least before they open.

Done!

Oh, but wouldn't a Trader's be great in this general area? I offered them my 'eye teeth,' by the way.

Trader Joe's even returns a nice email:

"Aloha and thank you for your interest in our stores. Emails have been flooding in with suggestions for new store locations in neighborhoods all over the U.S. We love that!

Rest assured, every email is read and your recommendation will be passed along to our real estate folks.

The best place to find new info concerning which neighborhoods we’ll be in next is the Trader Joe’s Locations page at http://www.traderjoes.com/static/find_a_tjs.asp

We hope to see you soon!

Mahalo (thanks)"

No, the Goodwill will be right in the front of "upscale" Grace Park. It is currently under construction between teh Gas Station and the Building with Starbucks in it.

Don't get me wrong, Goodwill does a lot for the community, but even within Grace Park, there is a lot behind the Vet building that is about the same size that is a much better fit if it has to be there. The front of the place is not a good fit for a number of reasons, IMO.

I guess I should have realized the Grace Park developers were ameteurs when I saw the beautiful sign bases they put in and proceeded to put Ace Hardware black plastic letters on for the tenant names.

A bank was going to go there at one time, but I guess they sold to Goodwill. Maybe they decided to move to the other half of the lot at McCrimmon corners when they divide it for the ABC store?

Possible opening date of 9/15 for the new mini Food Lion. They are supposed to have kept the wood floors meant for the Bloom too.
