Any White Castle fans out here? I've never been to one, and from the looks of them I never plan to!

Wow does that bring back memories! I grew up in Chicago (only until I was 10, I've been in Florida for the most part ever since with the occasional move to North Carolina or Montana for a year here and there). Our neighbors down the street were like an Aunt and Uncle to us and the man was a district manager for White Castle then. He even took me to work with him one day to show me what work was all about.

I used to LOVE White Castle burgers when I was little and my Dad used to buy as many as 200 for the big 4th of July parties we had in the summer. Everybody on the street came to those parties. What a blast! I don't know what the cleanliness and general quality of the food there would be these days but it was great back in the 60's and 70's.

One time, my Mom took a vacation to Mexico (maybe in '74) with her Mom for about 10 days. My dad drove to McDonalds straight from the airport and bought 100 Cheeseburgers because they were having a sale. I think they were 5 or 10 cents... That was all we ate while she was gone because there was no way my Dad was cooking.

One time my roommate bought those frozen White Castle hamburgers that you can find in grocery stores. I wasn't a fan of them, but I'd love to try White Castle at an actual White Castle!

Yeah, I've had those even in recent years. I don't think they measure up to the fresh cooked burgers you actually get at a real White Castle. They were OK, but it's just not the same.
